Accessibility

Draft. Brandan to review before launch.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA.

• Every UV value on the map is also available as text: the 32 city cards and each city page.
• The site works without JavaScript, and respects your device's reduce-motion setting.
• A colour-blind-safe map palette is available under Customise. Bands are always labelled in text, not by colour alone.
• Controls work with a keyboard. On the map, use Enter to expand, Esc to close and the arrow keys to move through time.

Known issues

The interactive map canvas is a visual summary, so screen-reader users get the same information from the city list. We're working on a text summary for the selected hour.
