Privacy
Draft. Brandan to review before launch.
This page explains what uvindex.au collects. It is written to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in plain English. We don't sell data and we don't run ads.
What stays on your device
Your settings (chosen city, map preset, pinned towns, safe-UV threshold) are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device. "Near me" uses your browser's location only to pick the nearest city, and that happens in your browser. The location is not sent to us.
Server logs
Like most websites, our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type). These are used for security and aggregate visitor statistics (AWStats).
Contact form
If you send a message, we keep what you submit (name if given, email, topic and message) together with your IP address and browser type, so we can reply and prevent spam. Messages are stored on our Australian-hosted server and emailed to the site owner.
Third parties
Pages load data from our own server. Your browser does not contact Open-Meteo directly. Fonts are self-hosted.
